Actor John Cusack: Where Are Democrats on Drones?

Actor John Cusack wants to know where the progressive senators are, and why they’re not part of the filibuster. (Thanks to Jay Jenison.)

Unlearn the Propaganda!

  • JFF

Duh, John. They are precisely where they’re supposed to be, “Progressives” after all!

  • http://twitter.com/MALiberty1985 MALiberty1985

Tom, I would like to hear your thoughts on Rand Paul’s Filibuster. Is his dedication to personal liberty enough to settle on some of the other issues where he disagree with his Father?

  • http://www.TomWoods.com Tom Woods

I talked about this while hosting the Peter Schiff Show today. I’m glad about the filibuster.

  • Anonymous

I can tell Cusack exactly where they are. They’re on the phone with a White House staffer getting their marching orders. “Progressives” proved once and for all what partisan hacks they are the day The Dear Leader got elected. Ever since then they have acted like puppets on a string, content to do their masters bidding regardless of the damage done to their integrity, assuming they had any to begin with.

  • Dave in Ann Arbor

Where are they? Cheering on “their” guy, of course. Like I said, most lefties are completely hopeless.

Cusack is a talented and decent man. This is clear through his opposition to the violent policies of both Bush II and Obama. It’s probable Cusack doesn’t see the link between warfare and welfare, yet in these dangerous times, it’s important that Cusack stands as a beacon against state violence when most people in his industry are out to lunch; or useful pawns in propaganda films like Zero Dark Thirty

It would be cool if “progressive” actors like Cusack formed a coalition with Ron Paul supporters like Vince Vaughn, bringing greater attention to the liberty movement.

Oh great! I am a few days behind on the show (I am a CPA and tax season cuts into my “me time”). I will be sure to listen to it tonight. Thanks!

I can tell you where one of my senators was during the filibuster. Ohio senator Sherrod Brown told the Huffington Post – “I’ve got stuff to do and was doing a lot of other things.” *facepalm* God, it pains me that I voted for him back in 2006 when I was still a liberal.

He did, however, go on to say that he thought “Paul was generally right on it.” Well, if you think Paul was right, why didn’t you stand with him?!

  • Tim

“generally”? Paul was spot on except that he implied that the scenario could exist where the President would be justified in using a drone on domestic soil. I adamantly oppose that.

  • visu

Yeah I second that. I was a leftie until I turned 18 and left my designated indoctrination center (2011). I turned to libertarianism when I saw what a liar Obama was when it came to civil liberties (and, of course, when I learned what libertarianism was…which shockingly I was never taught in school). Yet everyone I know just apologizes for Obama and continues to blame Bush…It’s sickening.

  • Will Hobson

Went from high school(’00-’04) and all the way through ’09 thinking I was a Democrat because I was pro-civil liberties and anti-war. I started realizing in 2009 that my party cared so little for these principles when they were in power they didn’t even bother giving lip service to them the vast majority of the time, and if Denis Kucinich hadn’t been there, 0% of the time. I still can’t believe how little people who self identify as liberals care that Obama is essentially Bush the Third (now with improved speaking/teleprompter reading ability).

Hey Democrats, guess why I’m not on your team anymore and now call myself a libertarian? Because the only thing you stand for is the color blue! Whoop-de-dooo!
