Former Rep. Tancredo Will Smoke Pot in Public

Tom Tancredo, former congressman from Colorado, said he would smoke marijuana in public if Colorado ever chose to legalize it, and he is sticking to his word.

Tancredo was a supporter of the initiative to legalize marijuana in the state. “I am endorsing Amendment 64 not despite my conservative beliefs, but because of them,” he wrote. “Our nation is spending tens of billions of dollars annually in an attempt to prohibit adults from using a substance objectively less harmful than alcohol.”

UPDATE: That was quick. Tancredo has bailed.

Unlearn the Propaganda!

thats unfortunate that he backed out. i swear people who dont smoke get more angry about it then anyone. cigarettes are fine, but all of a sudden you take something that is 100% natural, to which the effects are increased happiness, and people get all uppity. if it was a cig would people be acting the same way? some times its nice to just take a step back from our “culture”, figure out what you want, and let everyone else do what they want. peacefully.

Don’t need to be a smoker to support legalization.

Tancredo has always been a milquetoast without any guts.

I remember him from the the 2007-2008 primaries. I thought he was a standard politician, ready to sell out anyone and anything based on polling and media attention.

    Not much has changed.
