Geeks Are the New Guardians of Our Civil Liberties

Another reason you shouldn’t have made fun of them in school. The MIT Technology Review has an interesting piece on the central role of geeks in recent civil liberties battles, particularly against SOPA and PIPA, bills that would have damaged Internet freedom. So if you’re a geek, you have less cause for shame than ever.

Unlearn the Propaganda!

why would anyone chide or disparage ‘geeks’?

after all, it was the ‘geeks’ who released ‘secrets’ to show us beyond a doubt that the reason for ‘national security’ is to hide the crimes and deadly mistakes of our ‘leaders’ and it was the ‘geeks’ that hacked the fed as their most recent treat to we, the peons.

they are to be appreciated, not chided or disparaged.
