Greenspan Admits He Was Deliberately Evasive

“Syntax destruction,” he calls it.

So it turns out that critics of the Fed weren’t crazy crackpots after all — former Fed Chairman Alan Greenspan was in fact incomprehensible in his congressional testimony.

Thanks to Bob Murphy for the link.  And here’s Joe Salerno on the economic thought, if you can call it that, of Greenspan.

  • http://twitter.com/SpecKK Scott K

I love the Salerno article being proven correct a whole decade(!) later that Greenspan was shooting from the hip with magical thinking and pixie dust.

That is certainly the most profound bullshit I’ve ever heard in my life.

  • Colorado loves Ron paul

Just call it doublespeak. That’s exactly what it is. Why does the reporter just laugh and laugh? I would ask if he got that from George Orwell. Then I would ask what else from ’1984′ did they plan to implement.

Speaking as someone with a degree in econ, this is symbolic of the entire mainstream economic profession.  It certainly isn’t limited to just one Fed chairmen…

Traitor, traitor, traitor. If my wife, Ayn, were still alive, she would have your head, and rightly so, Darth Greenspan.

As Americans hang on in quiet desperation we are assailed repeatedly with this narcissistic arrogance and from multiple fronts.  Were it not for the apparent nonsensical civility wrought through guilt mongering manipulations by politicos and banker machinations this obsolete corporatist nation state and this world would be a much better place. Sunshine can dry the pustules if only the people would have the courage to open the blinds and let the inevitable occur.   Now, back to the tequila; enough political amusement for it is Friday and I aim to strike a drunkards pose by no later than nine.

And the acceptance of FedSpeak from the committee, with its thanks, proves that his testimony wasn’t the purpose of his appearance. It was so that all attendees could look useful, and concerned, and knowledgeable, and worthy of our trust and our votes, and not of our scrutiny, or our outrage.

Also, when addressing Congress, Chairman Greenspan has learned less from Ayn Rand than from the improvisational jazz mindset of the saxophone.

Since 1913 the Fed has lied to and stolen from us, with the connivance of the Supremes, Presidents and Congress. It is not sufficient that they all roast in Hell. We need to elect a new crew, who will throw all the Bozos in prison for life and three days.
