How I Sent Mark Levin Home Crying

Here’s how the whole thing turned out.

Unlearn the Propaganda!

Isn’t it amazing that our opponents never have ANYTHING EVER in the way of a substantive response? Levin joins the club of Yglesias and Krugman and all the rest.

Did he happen to call you a neo-Confederate?

Tom, as frustrating as it must be to debate neocons like Levin, you are doing a tremendous service. A lot of libertarians are former neocons who realized that expansion of the warfare state is inconsistent with limited government and our founding principles. When Levin’s audience sees that a reasonable, well-educated conservative like yourself is anti-war, it will at least make them stop and think; they can’t write you off as a “pinko-commie” because you’re obviously not one. This is a huge opportunity to expand the liberty movement. Don’t give up on these people!

I can usually get warrior red-staters to shut up by pointing out that the Federal government overseas is the same Federal government that brought us Detroit, only on steroids. It is spreading and imposing the same social democracy garbage on poor foreigners that it tries to impose on us.

When I ask the red-staters why they want our fighting boys and gals losing their eyes, legs and kidneys to help Hillary spread democratic socialism in the third world, they usually want to change the subject to country music or something.

I am one of those former neocons you are referring to. I actually can’t believe that a year ago I was listening to Mark Levin and thinking he was making completely logical arguments. My eyes were opened when he told a caller that maybe he would be in support of legalizing marijuana but then lost it when the caller suggested that the viewpoint consistent with real liberty would be for all drugs to be legal. He started screaming about people like the caller driving around while doing crack cocaine. As a person who has always been in favor of personal liberty but has never used drugs myself, I found this a bizarre response to say the least. Has the man never heard of the consequences of Prohibition? I have since been converted to the Austrian-Libertarian view and I feel a good deal of guilt that I ever held beliefs about war which are in line with Levin’s views. Neocons believe that the government is bad except when it comes to the military, which is never to be questioned. Now that I can see clearly, I can’t believe I ever felt that way as it simply makes no sense. Keep up the good work Professor Woods. I am sure there are many more like myself who can be swayed by hearing what a consistently logical viewpoint sounds like.

Picked up a copy of Rollback and Nullification this weekend, excited when I saw the Levin debate controversy on tomwoods.com.
As always Tom, I am impressed.

As for Levin, yeah, he’s toast.

He blocked me from his Facebook account in less than 8 minutes. I kid you not my first comment is saying 8 minutes ago and I cannot post on his fb anymore. I did get one comment in that I really loved in a response to another one of your readers who was saying something about how the “great one” was erasing messages. I wrote “The “defender of the constitution” is censoring free speech. Who saw that one coming?” Which I just love getting to throw Levin’s egotistical propaganda he begins his show off with back in his face…It should be “The defender of everyone who doesnt happen to live on top of huge oil reserves” or “The defender of slaughtering defenseless muslims because a pack of rabid’s attacked us that his policies, disclaimer: while with the Reagan adminstration, created!” or “The defender of a tyrannical police state, in which militarized sociopaths dressed in government issued costumes, track your every move, listen to your every word, break into your home, kill your dogs and steal your children.” these would be more accurate depictions of the show.
