I Am Academic and Funny All at Once, Insists Colleague

I made Bob Murphy (whom you know from KrugmanDebate.com, I trust) chuckle involuntarily, I discovered thanks to this two-and-a-half-minute video. This is very hard to do — it’s easy to laugh at Bob’s jokes, but much harder to make Bob himself laugh.

Oh, and here’s the link Bob is talking about. Help subsidize Bob’s lavish economist lifestyle by entering my site through that link.

Unlearn the Propaganda!

“Well, you just really need to rethink the priorities in your life.”

    That was great. :-)

Who’s he kidding? I haven’t balanced a checkbook in decades.

He chuckled at a plug that he himself did?

Why not just click on “play”?

I’m thinking it was either the part about Eisenhower Post Revisionism or the part about highways and nukes. Or was there a more subtle joke I missed? Looking forward to the Tom Woods show, the show with ideas deemed ultrasonic by the Mitch McConnell-Hillary Clinton Spectrum.

Tom and Bob are two of the best people in the freedom movement. Hilarious.

It’s a great plug, and I’m a HUGE Tom Woods fan who needs to rethink his priorities.
Having watched it a second time (still awesome this time around), I see now that what you had meant to refer to was his chuckling at your line in one of your courses which had to do with the Suez Canal, and not, as I had read, that he had chuckled at the two and a half minute video.
Thank you both for your time and effort.

    Ok, gotcha.

I agree with Bob Murphy that you are both academic and funny all at once.
And I can’t believe how useful history is, after learning about your work. Thank you.
I have gone through most of your sample Politically Incorrect Guide to American History playlist, here:

    Great stuff.

When I become president of the United States, Murphy will be my economic advisor and Woods will become my court historian. It will happen.
