    While there are no guarantees, his protection was threefold: he knew the law, was able to calmly assert himself and articulate the law, and he was filming them.

    If he did not do any of the above, he may not have been detained further, but his name would have been recorded. In any case, there are probably cameras around whatever town that is, recording his image and gun possession.
    Everyone who packs heat needs to conduct himself like this gentleman. We have every right to carry guns on public property. Locking us in a cage or killing us infringes on those rights.

    The student made a few mistakes by answering the policeman’s questions, for example ‘Yes’.

    In such situations, the student should only ask questions, never answer them. As soon as one answers a question, one becomes the servant and one needs to always stay the master in such situations. By answering a question, one gives authority away.
