Music Post #5

I like to post progressive stuff, but once in a while I just post whatever grabs me at the moment, which can sometimes be fairly straightforward. Here’s Katatonia’s “My Twin.”

Unlearn the Propaganda!

Never thought I would see you posting something from Katatonia. Your work is great as well as your taste in music.

  • DevoFromTheNorth

wow, cool idea posting music. new to this site and i never thought id hear this! progressive music rocks! atomship is good to, this kind of reminds me of them, or (intheclear)

  • Mateo

    You
like progressive stuff that is intellectually stimulating? Well here
you go. The acquired taste is continuously satisfying. I don’t
necessarily endorse all the lyrics from this band, but it’s the only
stuff my ear can stand these days. These lyrics are good. Yet he (the
singer/songwriter) needs to study up on his understanding of angels.
    Enjoy!

Hey Tom, have you heard Renske’s contributions to Ayreon? “Age of Shadows” is pretty excellent, if you haven’t heard it:

Great taste in music, I love progressive metal/rock! If you like Katatonia check out Anathema or Opeth, their album “Damnation” has gotta’ be one of the best progressive albums ever!

  • Mateo

Daniel, do you have a “thing” for terms like “anathema” and “damnation”? Their essential commonality in which they share is a lack of goodness, truth and love. I must express my distance from any kind of music such as the ones which the folk in here seem to enjoy. Talent, where is that rarity these days? Keep searching people! Forgive my dogmatic behavior.

  • Daniel Lionsden

Don’t get hung up on the names bro, both of these bands put out “some” beautiful music. I don’t endorse everything they’ve put out but they have some great songs. Lemme’ just recommend two songs, one from each band, Youtube ‘em: Opeth – “Coil” & Anathema – “One Last Goodbye”
Hey wait a minute.. aren’t you the guy who recommended Tool? I listen to them too but honestly, they’re not all that truthful, loving & full of goodness either ;) …To each his own I guess.

Keep the posts coming. Have you ever listened to Dream Theater or Symphony X?
