Revolution PAC is sponsoring a SuperVoter Bomb, sending out literature packets to up to 200,000 “super voters” (people who voted in both the 2008 and 2010 Republican primaries) in Iowa and New Hampshire. The packets include the now-legendary Ron Paul Super Brochure and a copy of the fantastic (re-cut) For Liberty documentary DVD on the 2008 Ron Paul campaign, a DVD that has changed many minds.
Please check out the SuperVoter Bomb site, where you can read the Super Brochure and find out about the great For Liberty DVD, and help us send this important material!
The rest of this post is the text of the cover letter that will accompany the mailing. The top of the page will read, “From the desk of New York Times bestselling author Thomas E. Woods.”
Dear Caucus Voter [for Iowa; Primary Voter for New Hampshire]:
We’re in danger of falling for the same old trick.
Just about everyone is making the usual promises. We’ll cut spending! We’ll reduce the national debt! We’ll close federal agencies!
But whose record shows he really means it?
How about a man who earned the highest rating ever given by the National Taxpayers Union, who has never voted for an unbalanced budget or a tax increase, and who opposes every bailout every time?
That’s Ron Paul.
David Stockman, Ronald Reagan’s budget director, called TARP “the single greatest economic-policy abomination since the 1930s, or perhaps ever.” And on the key economic issue of our time, Ron Paul and the American people were on one side, and Mitt Romney, Herman Cain, Rick Perry, and Newt Gingrich (who admitted he would have voted for it had he been in office) were on the other.
Ron Paul has stood up to the entire Congress, casting the lone “no” vote against the whole lot of them, more than any other congressman. In fact, he has cast the lone “no” vote more than all other sitting congressmen put together.
He is the real thing.
As lobbyists have long since figured out, he cannot be bought. And as presidents who confronted him have discovered, his arm cannot be twisted.
And in 2001, on the House floor, Ron Paul said the Federal Reserve was creating a real estate bubble to replace the popped tech-stock bubble, and that it was sure to burst like all the others. Who else in the race can say he predicted the financial crisis of 2008 seven years before it happened?
Make no mistake: this isn’t a garden-variety recession. This is a world-historic moment, with sovereign debt crises and fiscal collapse looming around the world. At a time like this we need someone like Ron Paul, who has been warning of this very outcome for nearly four decades and whose knowledge of economics is legendary.
He is also a good and decent man. As a physician at an inner-city hospital, Ron Paul provided medical care to anyone who needed it, regardless of ability to pay. He never accepted money from Medicare or Medicaid, providing free care instead.
He lives the family values others can only talk about, married to the same woman for over 50 years and blessed with five children and 18 grandchildren. And while others may boast, it is Ron Paul who gets more donations from active-duty military than all other Republican candidates combined.
He speaks his mind regardless of polls and focus groups, and even if it means he’ll be booed on national TV. Even if you don’t agree with him on everything, couldn’t we use a lot more of that kind of courage in this country?
Forget the plastic phonies, with their wooden personalities and rehearsed answers. Take a look at the enclosed material, and discover why Ron Paul has the most energetic and enthusiastic supporters and why, for the first time in my life, we have a rare opportunity to vote for the real thing.
For over three decades he has stood up for freedom, the taxpayer, and the Constitution, even when it meant standing alone.
If any other candidate wins the Republican presidential nomination, the federal gravy train rolls on. We know that.
A Ron Paul victory derails that gravy train.
Take a look at the enclosed material, and let’s make it happen.
Yours truly,
Thomas Woods, Ph.D.
P.S. As an economic historian and bestselling author, I am firmly convinced that only Ron Paul has proven he has the knowledge and ability to steer our economy back to prosperity during a crisis like this. Will you, as a personal favor, glance at the enclosed material and see if you agree?
