RedState.com: You Need to Read Only One Side, Citizen

RedState.com links to Mark Levin’s hilarious evasion, says nothing about my challenge to him or my response to his total failure to answer me, and claims Levin is the winner when it comes to presidential war powers.  Levin was beaten so badly in this exchange that he refuses to debate me or even to allow friendly criticism of his position on his Facebook page.  But for RedState.com, this is victory!

Is the whole mainstream Right really this Orwellian?  I knew it was bad, but this is pretty bad.

Unlearn the Propaganda!

Tom, please check your email for an interview request. I want to have you on the air with me tonight.

  • Jeff Karl

The aggravation reading this exchange evokes is like a stiff massage: it hurts… but in a good way.

Mark, I don’t have any record of an email from you. Would love to be on, but Monday nights I teach online classes.

    Hi Tom,

If you remember Fox News’ reprehensible treatment of Ron Paul during the 2008 debates, you shouldn’t be shocked by anything the “mainstream Right” does.

When it comes to so-called “national security” issues, yes. They are always this Orwellian. You’d get the same treatment from Hannity, O’Reilly and Limbaugh. Their refusal to engage in reasonable discussion of these matters is an implicit admission that they’re wrong. It’s not that Levin does not understand your argument — he purposely evades it because he has no response.

    Great post, Thomas.

Good work on this. Redstate has had a few articles on this topic and it seems the only justification that is made is based on precedent. Kind of like schoolyard logic that if someone did it with impunity it must be OK.

I contributed the following over at redstate:

    Woods is right.

The view espoused on [redstate] is that American families and property can be committed to battle by the whims of one man – representation is not to be expected by Americans – our leaders are too wise and sophisticated to be bound by such a silly requirement.

All hail neo-con bloggers and the left-right statists.

I love how the comments on Red State talk about the War Powers Act while completely disregarding your argument about it being unconstitutional. They are all drinking the kool aid, let’s just hope their alien ship comes for them soon.

Peter Schiff recently went through a similar episode when he had Dick Morris calling in on his radio show to promote his new book. The argument was over mandatory drug testing for high school teens as a pre-requisite for getting student loans to go to college. Morris tried to shift the subject back to his book about ‘stopping Obama’s socialism.’ Schiff offered solutions (How about eliminating student loans? Bring down the cost of higher education by eliminating socialistic bureaucracies.) Morris couldn’t handle the logic and abruptly hung up. When losing the argument these guys make like Lippy the Lion (“Heavens to Mergatroid!”) and exit stage Right!

What is really funny reading the RedState comments is that most of these people don’t understand defense and offense. They have been brainwashed so much that they think the two are the same. Mr. Woods has definitely made the case and like the “progressives” that Neocons are they resort to deflective tactics.
I used to listen to these Neocons all the time but deep down inside what they said never sat well with me. It wasn’t till I found men like Ron Paul, Tom Woods, Tom DiLorenzo, and Lew Rockwell that I had finally found the political ideology that I agreed with completely.

What’s wrong with that left-wing nut job, Congressman Tom McClintock? (sarcasm intended)

Levin is a showman who uses his knowledge( albeit twisted) of the Constitution to distort it to fit his views. Just look how he treats his guest. Even Cavuto said he didn’t like how he treated his guest to his face. I may have to make another youtube video that exposes his neocon agenda even more. It is hard to make one though, I have to listen to his voice over and over. :)

“Is the whole mainstream Right really this Orwellian?”

Why are you so surprised? Like I said many times before, they are merely the Warfare State denomination of the Cult of the Omnipotent State. Nothing more, nothing less. Keep up the great work, Tommy.

I found out long ago that RedState.com is your typical Neocon website devoted to totalitarian empire and central economic control when I posted a reply to an article on Lincoln on his birthday last year. I got so much negative feedback that I was actually banned from the site, and all I did was list out a few historical facts and quotes.

Those people are the worst of the political types, they are the brainwashed nationalists who believe that everything the USA does is good, so long as it is done by Republicans.
