Top 10 Conservatives to Watch in 2013

According to Human Events. Paul Ryan is number one and Rand Paul is number three. John Boehner and Mitch McConnell are also on the list; I’ll bet you just can’t wait to find out all the awesome things they’ll be up to in 2013. Ted Cruz, the newly elected senator from Texas, is number 10, and Human Events praises him for trying to stop the Hagel nomination. Hagel is about the best we can hope for in terms of foreign policy. This is why I warned against Cruz: nobody who endorsed Rick Perry for president is going to be remotely acceptable on foreign policy.

Unlearn the Propaganda!

It’ll be interesting to see how #3 votes on the Hagel nomination. From what I can gather, he’s been very careful not to make any definite public statements about Hagel.

Does “nobody who endorsed an inner circle of neocon elites is going to be remotely acceptable on foreign policy” also apply to romney or other gop candidates? Meaning, anyone who helped or publicly endorsed Romney is not even remotely acceptable on foreign policy.

After all, Perry wasn’t close to being the pick of repub/dem leadership for gop nomination as they made fun of him like bullies while not criticizing romney and limited criticism of santorum.

Hagel’s views on Israel and Islam are perhaps what Obama needs in the second term as this may be where the repub/dem leadership wants to take the country and world. And that may not be anymore appealing than Hillary Clinton or Rice.

Hagel believes Islamic violence is not due to the religion, even though this is what jihadists cite as their inspiration and the cause for which they are fighting. Rather, due to ‘political, econ, and social’ conditions. Though political/econ/social conditions are not great in other parts of the non-Islamic world as well.

He also believes Israel lobby is ‘intimidating’, but the same can be said of other foreign influences like Islamic organizations like CAIR and Muslim Brotherhood, whom are perhaps equally influential.

Hagel’s high-level views on curtailing US defense is probably appealing, but cybersecurity and security of other infrastructure like power grids/energy is weak and full of holes. And, Hagel may not meaning reducing size of nuclear and chemical arsenal on a global level.

Cruz is better on Constitutional issues though. I doubt he’s gonna be making a Constitutional case against Hagel. He’ll just Bork him.

and yet No Thomas Massie, Kerry Bentoviolo or Justin Amash? Then again, looking at who works at human events, I shouldn’t be surprised.

check out the reader’s comments under the article !!! If you skip the personal vendettas running there, practically everyone who comments on the article is ridiculing some of “the chosen.” As for me, the list itself is a handy reminder whom never to trust on the conservative side; they left out Chris Christy, of course.
