What to Do About the Cancellation of Freedom Watch

On my Facebook page yesterday I noted that Freedom Watch, hosted by the great Judge Andrew Napolitano, had been cancelled by the FOX Business Network. I posted a petition that’s going around to have the show reinstated, and there’s now a Facebook group calling for just that. I recommend both signing the petition and joining the group. The Judge has stuck his neck out for us so many times; the least we can do for him is a petition signature.

Courtesy of Lew Rockwell’s Political Theatre, you can also contact Irena Briganti, Senior Vice President Media Relations Phone: 212-301-3608 Fax: 212-819-0816 E-Mail: irena.briganti@foxnews.com. (SEE UPDATE BELOW.)

The whole thing is bizarre. Ratings for the show were good, compared to other programs on the network, so that wasn’t the issue. And the Judge wasn’t doing or saying anything they couldn’t have expected him to say. He was going after the libertarian demographic that has no home on any cable news network. So after having good ratings and grabbing precisely the demographic the network wanted him to, they cancel him? Not adding up.

UPDATE: People are reporting that the Irena Briganti email is not working. Thanks to EconomicPolicyJournal.com, we also have these contacts:

Kevin Magee (Fox Executive VP) is the person who made the decision to cancel the show. Write him at Kevin.Magee@foxnews.com.

Roger Ailes assistant, Gena Dellaquila at Gdellaquila@newscorp.com.

Unlearn the Propaganda!

I thought of that – Hey, maybe the Judge is going to join Ron Paul on the campaign
trail !   And maybe be his running mate !  Well, I can dream, can’t I ?  Maybe it is
not just a dream…   God bless you, Judge Napolitano…

Fox is owned by the muslim arabs and that is why it is constantly moving left

I believe the Judge’s Thomas Jefferson quote is a message to each of us. The tyranny could only get this far when most of the people are not paying attention. As Ron Paul said once you understand what is happening to our country, you have an obligation to do something about it. These evil doers have been patiently implementing the destruction of our sovereignty for a century now, spreading it out over several generations to sneak up on all of us slowly, so nothing seems too bad at any one time.

The good judge is a beacon of light in the elitest dominance of MSM to keep honesty and truth at bay. I don’t believe he is leaving the fight to save this country……just wait…but still keep letting everyone know your displeasure.

It has to be a Ron Paul 2012.

I tried to send an email to Kevin.Magee@foxnews:disqus.com and it is no good.

I was trying to send this message: I HAVE LEARNED THAT FOX HAS CANCELED JUDGE NAPOLITANO AND FREEDOM WATCH. I
AM OUTRAGED AT THIS. WE THOUGHT FOX MIGHT HAVE INTEGRITY BUT APPARENTLY NOT. YOU
ARE FALLING UNDER THE PRESSURE TO PUNISH ANYONE WHO STANDS UP FOR RON PAUL. YOUR
ACTIONS ARE NOT INVISIBLE. WE ALL SEE IT. WE THE PEOPLE ARE WATCHING EVERYONE
WHO IS TRYING TO MANIPULATE THE ELECTION RESULTS BY THE USE OF SUCH TACTICS. YOU
HAVE NOW JOINED THAT DIRTY GROUP.

I URGE YOU TO MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO RESTORE THE SHOW.

    SINCERELY,

  • Amarica

correction, I tried the email again and it went through. Stand up and be counted. this is punitive action and in an illegal attempt to prevent a Presidential candidate from fair news coverage in an attempt to manipulate the election results. THAT IS ILLEGAL. JUDGE NAPOLITANO REPORTED REAL NEWS AND THE TRUTH AND THEY ARE PUNISHING HIM FOR THAT.

  • P. B.&J

I’d really like to see a younger man as VP, but would dance in the streets of DC to see the Judge as Chief Justice.  There’s a dream ….. Wouldn’t that just make our day?

  • Guest

The other email addresses are not working either.  Could that be construed as cowardice?

  • Marciasullivan

    PAUL / NAPOLITANO  2012!!!

  • http://www.facebook.com/tntruther TN Truther

FOX probably got a memo from DHS, just like Congress gets, telling them that they either play ball or come under attack. It reminds me of the time the Pentagon found child porn on the computers of 3000 of their employees. Likely story, I’m sure.

I keep wondering if this is a great move and will allow Judge Andrew Napolitano to actually do more. What if this is only the beginning of the Judge and his awesome wisdom.

I always got to see him on you tube anyway because I don’t get fox news. But his wisdom and his ideas are much more useful out here with us than controlled by the media circus. I am sure there had to be disputes between the Judge and the idiots. I actually look forward to the future without fox news and their bios bull crap.

That decision came shortly after this “Plain Truth” segment from last week where the Judge asks some good questions: “What if the elections are rigged?” and “What if the President secretly wants to decrease the population?” I suspect that Napolitano knew he was getting scrapped that’s why he addresses these very taboo subjects. He was going down anyway–why not tell the truth while he still had the national stage? If that is not the case, then clearly it raises the prospect that it was these questions that prompted this action. For those of us who warned that despotism was coming to America, it is no longer a warning, it is here. The Judge was silenced for raising these issues.

bingo, bingo, we have a winner

Off subject: Nevada Republicans have finally finished counting the votes in their Saturday presidential caucuses. As projected, Mitt Romney won handily, finishing with 50 percent. Newt Gingrich was second with 21 percent, edging out Ron Paul who had 19 percent of the vote. When I look at Google Trends I see Las Vegas has the third highest search results for Ron Paul but Romney doesn’t rank. I find it hard to believe in this city didn’t get out and support Ron Paul more than it did four years ago. If this happened in Austin TX (where Ron Paul is ranked #1 on Google Trends) it could only mean on thing: voter fraud.

I was just thinking the same thing myself.

Judge Napalitano was probably a mole for some people FOX does not like. I know of one radio host that was definitely getting info from Judge Nap’.  A radio host the Dr. Paul would frequent as well.

  • James

They don’t send up the flak unless you’re close to the target…

  • http://mises.org/Community/blogs/tokyotom/default.aspx TokyoTom

Don’t tell me that David and Charles Koch couldn’t fund Judge Nap if they wanted.

  • Rifterpro

DOJ has put a lot of investigative pressure on Murdoch. After this show’s cancellation, we should watch how the course of the investigations take.

  • jen

It is just not about Paul’s candidacy.  They are control freaks and have this planned out since at least 2008, according to Wash Post.

Possibly a certain recurrent topic in these cancelled shows, like third party candidacy – now, that is what establishment (Romney) fears most and the best way to stick it to establishment.

Perhaps it is similar to why Beck was booted by Soros, temporarily.  Asman was also removed at the same time – a true free marketer.

Regardless, the Judge N. is resourceful and will likely pursue other endeavors that are as useful for liberty.

The Judge has asked us to tone down the emails:

“It will be far more productive for my work at Fox and the work of my friends and colleagues here–many of whom share our values–if the email traffic to Fox toned down considerably. I will continue to voice the message of freedom in many more Fox venues, and you will hear that message, and we will do our best to alert you in advance of those venues and the times that I will be on them; and we will post those alerts right here on this site. PLEASE BE SURE TO WATCH THE FINAL FreedomWatch SHOW ON MONDAY FEBRUARY 13TH, ON FOX BUSINESS AT 8:00 PM, EASTERN TIME. You have been very strong in your views and generous in your comments about the show, but now is the time to relax and lay low and prepare for the future. God bless each of you.”

  • Bellarierocks

Rather then try and get Judge to stay on faux news why not encourage him to join up with other truth tellers and get their own station going… lets all say good bye to msm and their elite sponsors.. get out of America.. and yes that five show stinks.. what a bunch of boring losers…

  • mimi

Please say it isn’t so!  I love the Judge and John Stossel.  ( the voices of “reason”.)  Let’s all contact Fox.and protest.

However -  I realize that many people weren’t even aware of it.  It’s on Fox Business News, FBN, whereas more people watch the “regular” (and older?) fox news channel – the one that has O’reilly (yuk!) and the one that used to have Glenn Beck.  BTW, I hate Beck’s replacement show – “The Five” – what drivel that is.

At least both Stossel and Judge N make appearances on the “old” Fox.  But, there have been times when the Judge’s show on FBN became repetitive.  Maybe just 1X per week for the Judge is enough. (Stossle is 1X/wk)

  • John

The Judge has asked that his supporters tone down the email campaign…

    What do you mean?

  • Matt

    My letter:
Hey I wanted to say thanks for cancelling Freedom Watch. For most of my
recent memories I have never watched Fox News, Fox Business or anything
Fox, other than Sports. After finding Freedom Watch with Judge Andrew
Napolitano my whole world turned upside down. Could Fox actually be
telling the truth? Could Fox actually be trying to help the little guy?

Well now my I have my answers, and I can go back to ignoring and vilifying your propaganda network once again.

    Thanks

    Matt

P.S. Sent to 5 of your advertisers as well.

     f_cking waste of space.

I just emailed Mr. Magee.  I am very sorry to see this show go.  I really enjoyed the Judge.
