Why Waste Your Time Eating?

When you can get all the nutrients you need by drinking Soylent, a “carefully portioned mix of fat (olive oil), carb (oligosaccharides), vitamins, and minerals. It has a milky white color and slightly sugary flavor, which [its inventor] says is quite enjoyable.”

Unlearn the Propaganda!

Why waste your time eating? Because this concoction has little dietary fiber, little fat, no cholesterol and too many carbs.

I do like the idea of eating an optimum amount of times per day. To me it means twice. I don’t know if two times is optimum or not. But unless I’m convinced it is not I’m going to be intransigent.

Some of you might have heard of Dr. Jan Kwasniewski, the author of Homo Optimus and Optimum Nutrition. His son Thomas eats ones a day.

I recommend Fat Chance by Robert H. Lustig (2012). Read the chapter in which he writes about dietary fiber. His arguments changed my belief about this nutrient. Now I assign a higher value to it.

Be that as it may, kudos to the originator of Soylent for having the courage of being different.
